Key Process Elements

Abstract view of a flowchart

PowerStart Onboarding is a comprehensive process that ideally begins before the newly placed senior leader starts the new job and continues for four months. Its elements support and accelerate organizational learning, building key relationships, and achieving performance expectations.

Importantly the PowerStart Onboarding consultant adjusts the process implementation to the specific situational needs of the new leader and the organization to ensure a successful outcome.

Leadership Practices and Culture Assessment
An early Onboarding interview/survey activity that builds a foundation for process consulting specific to the organizational context.
New Leader Assimilation
An early process intervention facilitated by the PowerStart Onboarding consultant to open communications and build relationships between the new leader and his/her direct reports.
Web-enabled Application Technology
A high-tech complement to the high-touch coaching/consulting provided during the process. It gives a new leader instant access to extensive Onboarding support –leadership skills, tools, resources, and expert advice.
Onboarding Guidance Communications
Structured communications throughout the four-month PowerStart Onboarding process provide a progression of leadership development actions specific to the new leader's situation and needs. These communications are also directed at the Onboarding Process Partners, clarifying their roles and support actions.
Alignment Discussions
Frequently held meetings/conversations between the PowerStart Onboarding coach and new leader, and the coach and new leader's boss to ensure that communications are open, issues are identified and discussed, and problem solving is available.
